Renée Degagné

Artiste-peintre

Biography

Born in Montreal, Canada, my passion for painting goes back to my childhood.  I became a full-time professional artist in 2006, after leaving behind a successful career as a management consultant.  The past several years have been devoted to my artistic development through an active pursuit of custom training in the visual arts.  I began working in oils, followed by acrylics, and today I’m engaged in mixed media because of the great freedom it allows.  My expression is strong and direct.  I like to create paintings where the figurative and abstract complement each other using textures in a warm colour palette.
